Following the problems faced by the property market in the US, many investors are looking to the commercial real estate market, according to one expert.
Speaking to the Turkish Daily News, John Kriz, managing director for real estate finance at Moody's, said that institutional investors across the world are seeking "new targets" for investment.
Suggesting that commercial property in the Turkish city of Istanbul, Mr Kriz told the news provider that real estate investment trusts (Reits) are likely to become increasingly popular.
"You need to invest in real estate while the economy diversifies. Reits are a good solution to finance these investments," he said.
Meanwhile, property investors may be interested to know that Turkey's foreign minister Ali Babacan said that the country's programme of reforms ought to see it become viewed as more of an "asset" to the European Union, reports AFP.
The minister made his comments ahead of a meeting with EU ministers and representatives from other candidate nations in Portugal this week.
