New airport 'will attract investors to Turkey'

A UK newspaper has welcomed the news that an international airport is to be built in Turkey.

The Telegraph said that the planned airport, which is being built near the city of Alanya, would help attract overseas property investors to the region.

It will be located at Gazipasa, 30 km away from the city centre, making Alanya highly accessible for incoming tourists and property investors.

The Telegraph commented: "This is good news for British buyers who have been showing increasing interest in the region."

New apartments were said to cost about £60,000 in Alanya, suggesting that further bargains could be available to investors on the local property market.

The newspaper added that the city could be reached from the airport in about 20 minutes, making it ideally placed for property buyers hoping to cash in on the growing tourist trade in the region.

Alanya was recently praised by German expat Gunter Wojeiechowski, who told the Today's Zaman newspaper that it had good scenery, coastal views and fine weather all year round.
