Demand for property in a popular Turkish holiday destination is set to increase following the introduction of new flights to the area.

British Airways will begin offering passage to Antalya next year in order to satisfy demand from holidaymakers.

The improved accessibility and visitor numbers is likely to have a knock-on effect on the local property market, as there would be more demand for rental accommodation to house tourists.

In addition, the creation of new leisure facilities in Antalya may also prove attractive to prospective holiday home buyers who are seeking a second home abroad.

Robert Boyle, commercial director at British Airways, commented: "Antalya is in south-west Turkey and is an increasingly popular leisure destination."

Today's Zaman recently reported that the city was already an appealing destination for foreign property buyers.

The publication highlighted a large number of Russian investors in the area, as well as people from the Ukraine, Germany and Britain.
