Investors in the Turkish property market could be in line to benefit from the country's popularity with Bulgarian consumers.
According to official figures, Turkey has been a highly popular destination among holidaymakers from the eastern European country this year.
Data cited by the Sofia Echo showed that between January and September 2007, approximately three million Bulgarians travelled abroad, of which more than 900,000 visited Turkey.
Figures also indicated that the overall number of Bulgarian holidaymakers during this period was 4.7 per cent higher than last year, suggesting that the popularity of Turkey could increase in the near future.
This could push up demand for holiday accommodation in the country, creating new opportunities for overseas property investors as a result.
The figures come alongside a recommendation from real estate specialist Dominic Whiting, who suggested that foreign buyers consider investing in the popular resort of Bodrum.
