The former president of Turkey has welcomed the increasing amounts of foreign investment in the country.
Suleyman Demiral said the rising trend of investments from overseas is likely to continue, as the nation is becoming more closely integrated with the global economy, reports the Turkish Daily News.
In addition, he stated that Turkey offers far more possibilities than it did several years ago, which means it has become a more appealing location for foreign businesses and individuals to consider.
Mr Demiral commented: "Turkey is fully aware of the fact that we live in a rapidly changing world which is currently going through the latest wave of globalisation."
He added that in recent years, the European country has witnessed "impressive" progress in its economy.
This comes after Property Wire revealed that in the last 5 years, more than £5.5 billion has been spent on houses in Turkey by foreign investors.
