Turkish real estate professionals are anticipating further growth in the market, according to an expert.

Rhiannon Williamson of ShelterOffshore.com stated that Turkey's growing popularity as a holiday destination has led to many visitors choosing to buy holiday homes in the country.

This means that if visitor numbers continue to increase, properties in desirable tourist destinations will be in much higher demand.

Commenting on this trend, Ms Williamson said: "With current estimates that 25 million visitors will arrive in Turkey in 2008, this does indeed bode exceptionally well for the property market in 2008-09."

She added that confidence in the real estate marketplace was currently very high, especially as the government was pouring more money into promoting property in Turkey overseas.

This comes after a recent survey by A Place in the Sun magazine found that the country is now the third most popular foreign market among British property buyers.
