New easyJet routes to benefit owners of holiday homes in Bodrum

EasyJet is to start direct flights from London to Bodrum, Turkey. It is thought that the new route will boost Bodrum's property market by making the area more appealing to holidaymakers.

Turkish property specialist Spot Blue is confident that the new easyJet route is set to benefit owners of self catering holiday villas in Bodrum . The low cost airline's flights will depart from Gatwick Airport and will be the first direct ones between London and Bodrum.

Direct of Spot Blue, Julian Walker, spoke enthusiastically of the new easyJet route , which will start on April 23 and run three times per week. "This is yet more good news for the property market in Bodrum. The announcement of new flights is good for the property market in any area, but perhaps more so in Bodrum's case, because the announcement will show potential investors that Bodrum is a growing tourism destination within Turkey ."

The fact that the flights will be operated by easyJet is significant, continued Walker: "[This] is most beneficial to owners and potential buyers of Bodrum property, because it gives British holidaymakers access to short, affordable flights, thus making private holiday rentals in Bodrum more appealing. This will increase occupancy on privately rented properties in Bodrum, thus upping rental yields and making Bodrum property more appealing to pure investors and holiday home investors."

easyJet will also start operating flights from Manchester to Dalaman , in Turkey, from August 6. This comes at a time when demand for holidays in Turkey is already increasing - holidaylettings.co.uk has seen booking enquiries for properties in the country increase 109 per cent year on year.
