New plans have been unveiled to create the second largest marina in Europe in a Turkish coastal town, something that may interest investors in waterfront property.
Following the declaration of the town as a tourism centre by the ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Aegean seaboard town of Didim is to become home to the new marina, Today's Zaman reports.
The news provider quotes the mayor of Didim Mumin Kamaci telling the Anatolia News Agency: "This marina will be Turkey's largest and Europe's second-largest marina. It will contribute much to Didim's tourism potential."
Mr Kamaci added that the town was also looking to have a facility for cruise liners complete within two years.
In further tourism news, new figures have shown that Turkish tourist resort Antalya has had another bumper year for visitors.
According to figures reported in the Turkish Daily News, The resort has already seen a 19 per cent rise in numbers for the whole of 2007, rising from six million to seven million, reports Homesgofast.com.
