Turkey will play host to a major paragliding festival in the seaside resort of Oludeniz, it has been reported.
The ninth Oludeniz Air Festival will take place between October 15th and 19th this year, reports Travel Video TV.
During the festival, around 35,000 paragliders will descend on the town, located in the Fethiye region, with the competitive field numbering around 160 from 40 different countries.
The report adds that Oludeniz has timed the festival to extend its tourism season, with plenty of beach activities for those who do not want to paraglide.
Such a development may offer new opportunities for those keen on investing in Turkish property, particularly waterside and beachfront real estate.
A large proportion of Britons who are buying in Turkey are moving permanently for retirement purposes, it has been stated.
Editor of Buying in Turkey Dominic Whiting told Citywire a third of the 23,000 UK citizens who own property in the country are resident retirees.
