Britons who want to move to an affordable location are increasingly choosing to set up home in Turkey, it has been revealed.
According to the Sun, the country is currently one of the top ten expat hotspots outside the eurozone.
This was said to be partly because many countries which use the euro are facing a number of economic problems such as rising prices.
In addition, the European commission this week predicted that Spain and Germany would fall into recession before the end of the year, further denting their appeal to foreign nationals.
As a result, people who want to relocate to sunnier climes are starting to shun eurozone members in favour of more affordable alternatives.
The Sun commented: "Turkey is now a safe bet among homemakers."
Figures cited by the publication showed that properties in desirable and accessible locations can cost as little as £69,000.
