Leisure travellers who wish to enjoy sunny weather this winter have been advised to visit Turkey.
According to Artemis Travel, the European country is sometimes overlooked as a winter holiday destination.
Nigel Harris, business development director at the group, said Turkey has not always received the recognition it deserves, despite the fact that it offers sunshine and high temperatures at this time of year.
However, he believes this is set to change, as factors such as the declining economy in the UK will prompt many Britons seek an affordable escape from home.
Mr Harris commented: "Travellers will be particularly keen to relax in the sun, while simultaneously reducing soaring energy bills at home."
He added that Turkey offers average temperatures of between 18 and 20 degrees C during the winter months.
According to Property Wire, the European country offers a number of other lifestyle attractions such as spectacular scenery, sandy beaches and affordable living costs.
As a result, it is now attracting a record number of foreign property buyers from countries such as the UK.
