Turkish Airlines is currently negotiating to operate an extra route to China, it has been reported.
The New Anatolian has revealed that the head of the carrier, Temel Kotil, is in Beijing negotiating with Chinese officials on raising the number of flights to the country.
Although the current timetables include services to Shanghai and Beijing five times a week, Mr Kotil is understood to be keen to offer passage to Guangcou as well.
In addition, he has also stated that he wants to increase the frequency of the existing services to seven times a week.
This should increase the capacity and allow it to attract more Chinese holidaymakers to Turkey.
Speaking to the news provider, Mr Kotil said: "Flights between Istanbul and Shanghai, and Istanbul and Beijing are not enough."
This follows a report by TravelBizMonitor which stated that Turkish Airlines was planning to attract more holidaymakers from India by increasing the number of services it provides.
