It is possible to pick up a flat for as little as GBP35,000 in the Turkish resort of Antalya , it has been stated.
A Daily Mail feature on the resort noted that such accommodation is available despite the fact that the area has become the scene of famous celebrities, with the GBP1 billion opening of a new luxury hotel being attended by A-listers such as Tom Jones, Mariah Carey, Sharon Stone and Richard Gere.
However, the paper stated, cheap accommodation is still available, although prices are rising by 20 per cent a year, suggesting those making acquisitions could see their value rise substantially.
Among Britons enjoying the area is 52-year-old Bob Cotgrove, who told the paper: "The great golf courses, cultural history, fantastic beaches and, of course, the prices, have been a big draw."
Earlier this week a representative of Antalya's chamber of commerce told the Anatolia news agency that with less red tape for buyer, the area could become a major hotspot for overseas buyers, Hurriyet.com reported.
