A couple from Scotland have spoken positively of their decision to purchase a holiday home in Turkey.
Graham and Irene Rennie recently spent £60,000 on a three-bedroom villa in the Dalaman region.
Speaking to the Sunday Mail, Mrs Rennie stated that they had been thinking about buying abroad for investment purposes for some time.
However, she said they eventually opted to purchase a property for personal use after after a friend bought a holiday home in Turkey.
Mrs Rennie commented: "When she brought her brochures into work one night, I was amazed at what you could get for your money there."
She added that when the couple are not using the villa, they plan to rent it out to help cover the maintenance and running costs.
Last week, Turkey was highlighted as one of the top ten expat hotspots outside the eurozone.
The Sun said this is partly because many countries which use the euro are facing a number of economic problems such as rising prices, thereby making other destinations more desirable.
