A Turkish resort that is already popular with British buyers is set to get a new golf course, it has been stated.
Planning and tourism officials have given the green light for an 18-hole course and residential village in a 170-acre site at Altinkum, Didim Today reports.
This will be a "major boost" for the area, not least as it is taking place alongside the opening of a new marina next year, said editor of the Buying in Turkey guide Dominic Whiting.
He added: "It will certainly broaden the area's appeal and have a positive effect on the property market."
The paper noted that there are already 7,000 Britons in Altinkum, with most having been able to buy their properties there for under GBP30,000.
However, it suggested, the top-end market may now develop due to the new facilities being created.
Property Abroad recently said Altinkum's new marina will make it one of Turkey's best property hotspots in 2010.
