Turkish tourist board in boost

In news that may interest property investors looking for good investment prospects, the Turkish Tourist Office has been nominated for an international award.

The country is among those nominated for the title of Europe's leading tourist board at the 2008 World Travel Awards, Focus on Travel News reports.

Such a nomination may be a very positive indication that the country is successfully increasing its visitor numbers, which could be very good news for those buying waterfront property on the Turkish coast.

The announcement of the winner of the award will be made in December.

Last week hurriyet.com reported that the authority is teaming up with the Turkish private sector in a further bid to bring in more visitors.

Between them they are contributing USD320 million (GBP182 million) to an advertising campaign in a bid to bring even more holidaymakers to the country.
