Dubai can offer bargains

Holidaymakers looking for a destination which will not break the bank this winter have been advised to consider Dubai.

Although famous for its affluence and exclusive resort complexes, the emirate also provides plenty of options for visitors on a budget, according to the Independent.

The newspaper rated Dubai at number one in its recent list of 'top ten bargain breaks', claiming that more adventurous holidaymakers can save money by avoiding the city's five-star hotels in favour of "budget-but-chic" accommodation.

Many of these places are located in quieter districts which are still within walking distance of Dubai's considerable "cultural highlights".

In addition, the paper advises visitors to make savings by eating at local restaurants instead of their hotel.

Shelter Offshore recently commented on the "stunning" properties available to buyers in Dubai, stating that a property in the city can represent a "high returning investment asset".
