Plans for a rotating skyscraper have been unveiled in Dubai. Dubai's Dynamic Tower will contain apartments, offices and a hotel, and will be permanently on the move.

The Dynamic Tower will add an unusual twist to Dubai 's skyline, as each of its floors will be able to rotate 360 degrees, reports The Times. The 420-metre tower has been designed by architect David Fisher and will offer residents complete views over Dubai.

Fisher told the paper what inspired him to design the spinning skyscraper: "The idea came when I was in Miami. A friend told me that one apartment, which overlooked the ocean, was worth $3m, but another, which didn't [overlook the ocean] was worth $1.8m. I started thinking about this dynamic tower." Fisher will use factory-manufactured floors, which will be assembled on site - a low-cost technique that he expects will influence others.

Dubai's Dynamic Tower is scheduled to be completed in 2010 and Fisher believes that it will spark demand for similar towers in cities such as London , Paris , New York and Moscow.
