The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a popular destination for British expats who move abroad when they retire, a new survey has suggested.
A poll by Alliance & Leicester revealed the weather, quality of life, safety and overall standard of living were all factors that attracted Brits to areas such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Such factors also influenced the decision of those who made a business-related move abroad, with weather being cited as being a foreign country's top draw.
Investors who specialise in overseas property may wish to step up their presence in the UAE as a result of the findings, as there may be an increase in demand for property from those thinking of emigrating from the UK.
Sales of Dubai's currency, the dirham, were at their highest ever during October, figures from M&S Money revealed recently.
Over £1 million of the currency was purchased from the currency firm last month, the data showed.
