Dubai Investments Continue To Lure British Investors
The Gulf News reported that the British are one of the largest groups of foreigner investors for Dubai investments in real estate. Dubai investments offer an enticing mix of top-of-the-line properties that are comparatively cheap, in a buoyant economy. Whilst there is some concern that the falling pound may take away some of the lustre of Dubai investments, others argue that the slump in the UK market will result is greater demand for Dubai investments.
Dubai investment bank, EFG Hermes estimates that British buyers now account for 12% of international property investors. Of these, some 100,000 British expatriates reside in the Emirate and have a healthy share of Dubai investments in property. The Dubai Land Department values the total investments in Dubai property by British at about 4.7bn dirhams ($1.3bn).
Dubai Investments have paid rich dividends with prices seeing sharp escalations. Developers have served up many exotic options making Dubai investments such as 'sculpted' islands and property in the worlds largest tower, are some of the most exciting anywhere. Dubai investments are further bolstered by solid market fundamentals. These factors and irresistible offers by realtors have enticed many into the Dubai investment market. Incentives such as free luxury cars and residential visas for those making Dubai investments are another source of temptation.
The going has been great for Dubai investments thus far; however questions are now being raised on the impact of the falling pound. The sterling fell by over 2.5% to the dirham last year. This could make Dubai investments more expensive for the British buyer. Despite this fall, Dubai based realtors aren't too worried. They insist that the earning potential of Dubai property will continue bring investors in. The population grows rapidly each year and international companies are increasingly setting up offices, there. In the face of lower earning potential back home, demand for Dubai investments shows no signs of waning.(http://www.gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=220625&version=1&template_id=48&parent_id=28)
