Consumers in the UK are increasingly choosing to shun traditional destinations in Europe, according to a travel firm.
Teletext Holidays said the recent economic downturn in Britain has forced people to consider their finances when booking a trip abroad.
As a result, a growing number are considering issues such as exchange rates and looking for places which offer the best value for money.
Many of the favoured destinations were said to be located outside the eurozone, as the pound has been relatively weak against the single European currency in recent months.
Ash Makkar, marketing director at Teletext Holidays, commented: "The credit crunch has affected our customers' priorities in terms of booking a summer break, as they now demand greater value than ever before."
Speaking to the Guardian, he added that the pound tends to be worth a lot more in countries which do not use the euro.
This comes after Phil Davies of TravelMole told the Telegraph that the strong euro is having a "significant impact" on where people are choosing to take their holidays.
