Organisers of an overseas property exhibition in the UK have hailed the resilience of the market in the face of an economic downturn.
A Place in the Sun Live, a show affiliated with the Channel 4 television programme, was recently held at the NEC in Birmingham.
Amanda Lamb, host of the TV show, was among those taking part in the event, and she has revealed that was surprised with the turnout.
The comments were echoed by the show's founder Mark Bishop, who said it was "pleasingly busy".
He remarked: "We were a little apprehensive about how many people will come because of the general downturn in the economy."
Mr Bishop added that people attending the exhibition were not just dabbling in the market, as they were seriously keen to invest in a foreign residence.
This comes shortly after A Place in the Sun Live highlighted non-European countries including Brazil as highly lucrative investment hotspots.
