Britons considering investing in property in the USA are beginning to look beyond the traditional destinations, it has been suggested.
According to Mayfair International Realty, around nine out of ten buyers from the UK head to Florida, with many of these choosing Orlando.
But director of the firm Annette Reeve noted that a shift is beginning to take place, stating: "Florida is still going to be the number one place … but people are looking at other parts; they are looking at ski resorts and New York."
She explained that cheap flights can be available to New York and suggested that it is a "great time" to consider making a purchase in places such as South Carolina.
This month Jet-to-Let magazine revealed that the USA is the third most popular destination for overseas property investors, having risen from fifth place.
Cyprus holds the top spot, with France currently ranked second.
