Golf properties in Florida have a scenic appeal that means even people who dislike the sport enjoy them, it has been reported.
A Daily Telegraph feature on the subject focused on the views of buyer Jane Rees, who told the paper she does not enjoy golf but prefers the space and scenery that exists around her new golf resort home in Sarasota.
She said: "It's green belt so we have fantastic views. There's a lake which is tranquil and secure. I can see pelicans and eagles. It's a sanctuary."
Ms Rees added that this was highly preferable to the "crowded" and "not very secure" home on the waterfront she and her husband used to own.
Those looking to buy golf property in Florida or other homes in the US can benefit from a "double whammy" at present, it has been suggested.
Earlier this month, editor at international property portal HomesOverseas.co.uk Marc Da-Silva said British buyers can currently enjoy a combination of low prices and a relatively strong pound against the dollar.
