A British couple have spoken highly of Florida after purchasing a holiday home in the US state.
Robert and Jan Robinson, who currently live in Cambridgeshire, own a four-bedroom villa in Florida and visit it two or three times a year with their young daughter.
Speaking to the Sunday Mail, they said they were drawn to the region because it offers a number of attractions, such as leisure outlets, sunny weather and good amenities.
Mr Robinson commented: "As far as we're concerned, Florida offers everything you could want in a holiday - and it's much more affordable than most people realise."
He added that when they are not using the property, they let it out to visiting holidaymakers.
Mr Robinson noted that while the number of people buying villas in Florida may be in decline, tourist demand remains as strong as ever.
Greg Grant from Holiday-Rentals recently suggested that lifestyle buyers use their property as rented accommodation.
Speaking to the Telegraph, he said the rental yields could help supplement people's incomes during these times of economic turmoil.
