Florida has been praised by two British property buyers who have just purchased a holiday home in the region.
Heather and Kenny Mackintosh told the Sunday Mail that they spent a long time searching for an ideal property in Orlando before finding a house which meets their needs.
Speaking to the newspaper, they said they are delighted with their three-bedroom townhouse, especially as they were able to secure it at a reasonable price.
Mr Mackintosh commented: "The price suited us and - more importantly - we thought it would be a better place for family holidays."
He added that their second home is also ideally located within reach of important amenities such as shops, an internet cafe and leisure outlets.
Meanwhile, Florida has been recommended as a good destination for those who want to make the most of the weak pound.
Tracey Painter of Travel Counsellors told the Eastern Daily Press that people can currently get two dollars for every pound.
Since the pound is at an all-time low against the euro, she said this could make Florida "the place to go at the moment".
