British property investors should be encouraged by the apparent stabilisation of the US property market, it has been claimed.
According to Mayfair International Realty, individuals should begin to feel more confident about the state of the housing market in the country and start returning before prices begin to grow once again.
Annette Reeve, director of the property company, explained that traditionally popular destinations such as Florida were seeing an increase in activity.
She added: "I do feel that if a bit of confidence comes back in this country and we get the election behind us, people will look to be buying abroad again.
"I still maintain that the US is a favoured location because it is deemed as safe and secure, as opposed to a lot of these emerging markets which people have heard such horror stories about."
Ms Reeve's comments come in the wake of new research from Clear Capital which demonstrates that, although prices fell by five per cent in the last quarter, US property values are still up by 5.1 per cent year-on-year.
