Long-haul destinations are growing in popularity as prices of flights decrease, it has been stated.
According to Abta - The Travel Association, the price of long-haul flights has fallen "drastically" over the past 40 years, making it easier for Britons to travel to countries such as the US, where visits were previously reserved to those who could afford the expensive cost of air travel.
Spokesperson Sean Tipton noted that the US is one of the top five destinations for Britons undertaking a long-haul trip, with Florida being an especially popular location.
"It's very affordable and is not that much more expensive than a short-haul flight," he explained, adding that the state plays host to "a million British tourists a year" - news which may interest those considering investing in the US property market for rental purposes.
Another popular long-haul destination that may attract investors is Thailand, which came second behind the Maldives in a recent Kuoni popularity survey.
