Miami is a new entry on the list of most popular US destinations for the holiday season, it has emerged.
According to Orbitz's data indicating the busiest airports and travel days, the east coast city is now the eighth most popular destination in the country for thanksgiving.
And Miami is not the only Florida city proving attractive to those holidaying during the winter, with Orlando retaining the number two spot in the top ten destinations for Christmas, losing out only to Las Vegas.
Overseas property investors who purchase homes in either of these two cities are able to benefit from Amendment Three, which was recently passed when voters went to the polls in the US presidential elections.
The amendment means owners of properties in the state of Florida can benefit from tax exemptions if they add energy-saving technology - such as solar panels - or hurricane proofing to their homes.
