The US is the best place to go for property investment overseas next year, an expert has said.
Detailing his tips for 2010, Liam Bailey stated in an article for Write About Property that the country offers better prospects than emerging markets at present.
He stated: "The current abundance of distressed and heavily discounted properties currently available in America are just calling out as some of the most profitable buy-to-let investments you could ever go into."
Mr Bailey said that residential rentals are the best short-term prospect, as these will be in high demand until the market makes a major recovery.
He advised that the tourist lettings option is one that is not so strong at present, but will grow as economic recovery means more people take holidays.
Earlier this month, head of research at investment firm Property Frontiers Christopher Chadd said the US offered the strongest property prospects.
He advised investors to look at the areas where the market is showing signs of recovering fastest.
