US to experience

The election of Barack Obama will bring an increase in the number of people visiting the United States, it has been claimed.

According to Abta - The Travel Association, the country will undergo an "Obama boom" as people who had been put off from going to the country due to their opinions of George W Bush may now choose to visit.

Spokesperson for the association Frances Tuke said that the election of the 44th president has brought a "feel good factor" to the country.

"With Barack Obama, for many reasons, people [will] feel a whole new optimism," she explained, noting that many will be keen to experience the "new landscape" that is being created following the outcome of the presidential elections.

Property investors considering taking advantage of this expected growth in visitors may be further encouraged by the news that Abta research has indicated there has been a 21 per cent increase in the number of Britons aged between 18 and 34 that are considering visiting the country since Obama was voted in.
