FREE GUIDE INCLUDEDTop 10 Tips for Buying Property
Built in the 1980s this is a compact chalet centrally positioned on a good sized plot of land. There is scope to enlarge the building, or just enjoy the mature garden. The front door opens into the open plan kitchen/dinning area (about 24m2). There is a French window from the kitchen/dining area to the patio at the South facing side of the building. Another door opens to a hallway with access to the bathroom and the ground floor bedroom which also has a French window. An open tread staircase leads to the first floor which has a living room of about 20m2 with a wood burner and French window onto the balcony. There are two bedrooms, a dressing room and a bathroom. There is a small mezzanine above the staircase, useful for storage or a children's area. The chalet has been arranged so that the two floors can be separated and operate as two individual apartments, something that has generated extra income for the current owner.Outside there is a tool store and wood shed at the back of the building and a pretty independent garden 'chalet'. The garden has established trees and shrubs and surrounds the building with a gravel drive and parking for 2 vehicles. The access road to the chalet is co-owned. Interested parties should be aware that there are elecricity cables near to the property, but not directly overhead.Megevette is a small village at 900m altitude, just a few hundred metres' walk from the chalet, it has a popular bar/restaurant. The nearest shops would be in the village of Onnion 4mins drive, with larger supermarkets to be found in the town of St Jeoire about 10mins drive. Geneva is only a 45mins drive. There is a local school in Megevette and a secondary school in the larger village of Bellevaux, just 6mins drive away.Skiing you have the choice of the local ski resorts, Le massif des Brasses, 5mins drive, Hirmentaz/Les Haberes 10mins drive and Sommand/Praz de Lys 15mins drive. For larger ski resorts, Le Grande Massif, Les Portes du Soliel, Chamonix etc. these are all accessible under the hour.
