No less than 13 new golf courses are due to open in Morocco over the course of the next three years, the country's national tourism office has revealed.
Currently, there are a total of 27 courses located across the nation, with the expansion planned as part of its Vision 2010 and Vision 2020 schemes.
The news could prompt a number of international investors to buy property in Morocco in order to cash in on the ever-expanding market.
It follows the release of figures by the Moroccan National Tourist Office which show that golf tourism has increased by 40 per cent in the last three years, with the number of golfing visitors exceeding 170,000.
Meanwhile, Philip Arnott of Morocco Properties, recently claimed that property buyers are looking at prime sites located just on the outskirts of Marrakesh.
He added in an interview with Overseas Property Professional that the strongest growth in the country's real estate sector is within the top end of the market.
