Complex:A little to the west of Marbella, in fact just north-west of the small town of San Pedro de Alcántara, lies a valley dominated by the Marbella Club Golf Resort. Verdant and peaceful, it occupies a country environment just off the road that connects the coastal thoroughfare with the pretty mountain village of Benahavís.Although no more than five kilometres from the sea, this is a private world where tranquillity reigns in a setting where bright green fairways are encapsulated by forested hills. A break in the range allows for impressive views to the sea, merging blues and greens dotted with the whites and tans of luxurious villas.Developed and operated by the same people who own the legendary Marbella Club Hotel, the Marbella Club Golf resort is focused upon a superb 18-hole golf course favoured especially by experienced golfers. Grand villas on large private tracts either border the course or look down upon it from one of the many little hillocks that also offer stunning views all the way to Gibraltar. At the heart of the community is the pretty little clubhouse, whose outdoor terrace area enjoys an inspiring outlook over the course, the hills and an attractive manmade lake. Well facilitated, the golf club features a whole range of services, including a bar, dining and lounge area, pro shop and caddying and coaching facilities.Another stylish facility that makes the most of the country club’s wonderful location is its riding centre, whose stables and supporting facilities rank among the very finest in this part of Andalucía. Residents can either keep their own horses here or use the centre’s fine animals to go out on relaxing rides through the countryside.Founded in the 1990s, the country club borders the Monte Mayor Country Club, and has the distinction of offering a very rustic setting within minutes of Marbella, Puerto Banús, San Pedro Alcántara and Estepona. The villas are set on large plots in keeping with the country feel of the setting yet maintain the high standards of design, elegance and luxury typical of Marbella.Varying between contemporary Andalusian country styles and very modern architecture, these grand homes also benefit from the connection to the Marbella Club Hotel, which entails special privileges and services for residents at the hotel’s restaurants, nightclub, beach club and spa and Thalasso centre on Marbella’s Golden Mile. By extension, this is one of the best addresses in town, blending rustic peace with all the trappings of a Marbella setting.Location:To many Andalucíans, native and expatriate alike, Benahavis is synonymous with food. It has the highest concentration of high class restaurants in the region and draws visitors by the thousands who come simply to savour the cuisine. It also has an extremely high percentage of resident expatriates who have found its situation and ambience irresistible. In spite of this, it has remained remarkably unspoiled, with winding narrow streets ill-suited to the motor car, and a picturesqueness which almost makes it seem like a specially-created film set.It stands 500 metres above sea level, 7 kilometres inland from the Guadalmina Golf Course, and is reached by driving through the rio Guadalmina gorge up into the hills. Its Moorish heritage is emphasised by the existence nearby of the ruined 11th Century castle of Montemayor. As its name implies, this Arab stronghold squats on top of the highest mountain in the locality, and anyone wishing to make the climb to visit the ruins and experience the truly sensational views of the coastline should be prepared for a strenuous but rewarding effort. Today, Benahavis is seldom quiet during the tourist season, but the greatest problems are finding a place to park, and choosing a restaurant.Even the old stone Arab walls around the town hall have been converted into one.A notable feature of the village is La Aldea. Almost a village within a village, La Aldea was the brainchild of the British sculptor, David Marshall, whose gallery is one of its main features however there are other art galleries in Benahavis. Though largely a recent creation, determined efforts have been made to make this enclave even more Andalucían than Benahavis itself, with marble fountains, antiques and old-fashioned doors and grilles. There are 7 fabulous golf courses and clubs in Benahavis for all abilities. If possible, a parking space should be found at the entrance to the village and the tour of its streets undertaken on foot. All too often this is easier said than done, and the best alternative is to drive carefully to the Restaurante Los Faroles on calle Málaga, beside which an enterprising villager has turned a rare spot of unused land into a welcome and cheap car park. It should not be assumed that restaurants are the only eating places in Benahavis. For those not ready for a heavy lunch there are numerous bars serving excellent tapas and even a small pizzeria.Distances:Approxamaitely 10 minutes to all amenities and the beach, about 25 minutes to Puerto Banus and Marbella town centre.Summary:Detached Villa, Benahavís, Costa del Sol.6 Bedrooms, 6 Bathrooms, Built 402 m², Terrace 100 m², Garden/Plot 5315 m².Setting : Country, Close To Golf, Close To Town, Close To Forest, Urbanisation.Orientation : South.Condition : Excellent.Pool : Private.Climate Control : Air Conditioning, Pre Installed A/C, Cold A/C, U/F Heating.Views : Sea, Mountain, Panoramic, Garden, Pool.Features : Covered Terrace, Lift, Fitted Wardrobes, Private Terrace, Satellite TV, ADSL / WIFI, Guest House, Storage Room, Ensuite Bathroom, Marble Flooring, Barbeque, Double Glazing.Furniture : Fully Furnished, Optional.Kitchen : Fully Fitted.Garden : Private.Security : Gated Complex, Electric Blinds, Alarm System, 24 Hour Security.Parking : Garage, More Than One.Utilities : Electricity, Drinkable Water, Telephone.Category : Golf, Holiday Homes, Investment, Luxury, Resale, Contemporary.
