St Petersburg on Florida's Gulf Coast

St Petersburg in the Tampa Bay area of Florida's Gulf coast is easily accessible via Tampa International Airport. The city of Tampa is just 20 miles away, offering a wealth of cultural attractions and nightlife. It is the third largest city in the Sun Shine State. St Petersburg is a good place to search for a holiday home, as it offers many attractions and amenities without being quite as expensive as the city of Tampa. Golfing, cycling, boating and fishing, walking along the beaches or exploring waterfront parks - St Petersburg is also a great place to relocate to.

Art plays a major role in the city, where the Salvador Dali Museum is a focal point for tourists. The city's oldest attraction, however, are the Sunken Gardens, which hold more than 50,000 tropical plants and flowers. If you love gardening and plan to retire to Florida, this is the place to visit. Join a garden tour or one of their horticultural demonstration to get inspiration for your own garden project, after purchasing a home.

The Greater St Petersburg area offers a wide range of homes, from luxurious large villas with extensive grounds costing $4.9 million to resale condos starting at around $89,000. It's possible to find brand new, key-ready St Petersburg properties with 5 bedrooms for $280,000.
